Amour

Be the "Boss" and try some embossing on your next project.  All it takes is a little ink, a little embossing powder and a heat gun and then say wow!

I recently finished up another custom order for 15 cards.  Most were chosen from cards already done, but I like to decorate the inside and an envelope to go with the card.  That took a couple of days and then I made a little gift bag to hold the cards.

This card is for my friend's parent's 50th wedding anniversary and she wanted the card to include the color gold and then we chose her Mom's favorite color which is blue.

Wildflower

I am so far behind in my blogging and so many projects to share!

This very pretty effect was made by using Vellum cardstock over a design from the Watercolor Wonder DSP.

Tip -

Use Vellum to create a soft, pretty look on your next project.  Perfect for sympathy or wedding cards!

I like this color combo so much that my kitchen is decorated with them.  This is a simple & fast card to make.  Your card base is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4", the So Saffron layer is 4-1/2" x 3-1/4", Tempting Turquoise layer is 4-3/8" x 3-1/8", the Vellum is 4-1/4" x 3".  I stamped the Wildflower image onto the Vellum in Versamark, covered it with Whisper White Embossing Powder and melted it with a heat gun, added the ribbon and my card was done.

Cardstock - Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Vellum
Ink - Versamark, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Calypso Coral
Stamp - Wildflower, Best of Everything
Pretty Accessories - 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon Daffodil Delight, Whisper White Embossing Powder

I'll see you back here tomorrow :)

Thanks to Kay Kalthoff for sharing her design.

Happy Birthday

Here's my tip for today.  When you have hard lines on your project as I have, soften it up with a few curves like an oval die cut and embellish.

Snow is coming & I don't want it to.  Thankfully I can make as many pretty Spring cards as I want to :)

Yesterday was a down day for me.  I was able to sleep in, enjoy morning coffee and breakfast, say a prayer of thanks for another day with KC (my kitty, it's been 3 weeks plus of KC not eating very much.  He is so thin & it's breaking my heart).

Today will be spent going to the store again, this time to pick up a prescription plus a few other items I forgot from my last trip to the store.  Darn.

I have several events coming up that I need to get projects ready for.  Finally, I have all that I need to started preparing for 2 of them.  Yesterday, I finally was able to get 2 of the projects started so I will be working on them today, too.

I have a Tags & Cookies event at the end of this month, and then the Black Friday Breakfast fundraiser at my church.  More info will be coming soon.

I treasure each of your comments and love reading them.  Keep 'em coming!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blessings.

Tea For Two

I love this card.  The technique I used here is called collaging.  It is an artistic composition of stamped images overlaying other images and frequently used with similar colors. You can also overlay punched or 3-D items.

Yesterday I managed, with the help of a friend, to clear some shelves in my laundry room, sweep and mop the floor.  Since my goal is to clear out closets in my stamp room, we were able to remove items in the hallway into the laundry room and move 1 box from my closet to the hallway so I could start getting the items in it ready for selling.  It's a slow progress but I'm thankful for each step closer to that goal.

It was also good to spend time with her.

I also was able to deliver a custom order of 16 cards to a friend.  We had a nice visit, too.  I bypassed the store to head home so that was on my to do list for the next day.

Get Well Wishes

A little springtime to share with you on this very cold morning.  I just love water coloring but you can achieve the same effect with Blender Pens from Stampin' Up and you will love the results!

Tip:  when you use these techniques, first decide where your sunshine is going to hit on your project, then use more color where the shade is & less color (even white space) where your sunlight is hitting.  Isn't it fun to make your own sunlight?  Enjoy.

Custom Order

A few weeks ago I received a request for 34 cards from a friend in my Bible Study group.   I was thrilled!  Since then I have been working feverishly in completing them and I want to share all of them with you.  In addition, I thought I would challenge myself by sharing a tip with you on each card.

My goal was to keep them simple.   So, if you're looking for some fun and fast cards to make, you're in the right place.

Tip 1:

For those that think in order to recreate a card exactly as you see it, please challenge yourself to use what you have on hand, you will feel an amazing sense of accomplishment and twice the fun!  Need help?  I'm happy to do so.

Here's my first card.

Happy Fall

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've actually posted a project.  Last week I took each day to share with you some of our different kits that you can play and create with.  Thank you for allowing me to do that,  Going forward it is my intent to soft sell once a week or so.

Last weekend I was able to take several days and go back home to say goodbye to my grandmother. I think of her a hundred times a day, yet I know she's in a better place. Well, I'm back home now and in the swing of things again!

Here is my card today to start of the Fall season.  Happy Fall to each of you.

Cardstock - early espresso, tangelo twist, whisper white
Ink - early espresso
TIEF -
Stamps - occasions alphabet, paper bootiful
Tools -   Crimper, petite label punch,  autumn accents Bigz die
Accessories - stampin write marker, linen thread, gold basic metal buttons

Friends

I can finally show you the projects I made for our Stampin retreat!  I had so much fun making them but I was unable to attend because my grandmother passed away.   They received lots of nice compliments.

When I was deciding what product or products to use, the Flashback DSP started calling my name.  In one design there are old style cameras which led me to thinking about scrapbooking.  I already had the Snapshot stamp and the On Film Framelits dies and that's how my projects were born.

I hope you enjoy them!

This project is a photo frame that spins around so I actually have four different photos on there.  The lid comes off and I was going to put in a little base of fall flowers but just didn't have the time.

I am so happy with the way this turned out, it is a scrapbook and it looks like a camera.   Cool, right?

I love creating ensembles for birthday parties or any other type of party and one of the must-haves our banners!  I thought this would be a cool way to add photos of my friends, it really adds a personal touch to the ensemble

These are cute little tense that Lisa gave me.  They contain after dinner mints & were to be for our Friday night dinner at the bed-and-breakfast.

The black diecut image on top of the tins is actually a little camera but you can't really tell what it is so I kinda wish that I would've stamped it and then die cut it.

Instead of a picture from my frame, I found a quote on Pinterest about friends that I really like so I printed that off from my computer decoupaged some paper to it and added a pretty ribbon and bow.

Soho

Hi everyone.  The weekend is here!   I hope you have something fun to do this weekend.  I will be doing the two C's, creating and cleaning

It has been a quiet day around here, I finished this card and cleaned up my craft room a little bit.  KC, the poor thing, took lots of naps today.

The apartment complex I live in has required us to remove our outdoor grills, and I miss mine horribly!  One building was burnt to the ground this year and another building last year received fire damage because of grills so I understand the reason why but don't like it.

For today's card, I'm using another sketch challenge, first I embossed the card base then I chose my paper.  The sketch below shows different patterns and different colors for the border at the bottom but when I decided to use this piece of patterned paper I decided to use the same one and I love how it turned out!   When I am creating and a design comes out of nowhere it's just like a real high!  (laughing)

I hope you enjoy it & I hope it inspires you to do a little creating for yourself this weekend.

Love You

I just fixed a limeade for me, KC's had his snack, now I'm ready to sit down and update my blog and Facebook.

Is this not the coolest card?  I've never done color blocking before but now I'm hooked.

The card measures 4.25" x 5.5"  The pink and black rectangles are 2" x 2.5".  The green squares were punched out using my three-quarter inch square punch.  The white layer wias softened by using a corner punch.  Colors are Whisper White, Basic Black & Strawberry Slush.  The other punches I used were the half inch circle and 1 1/4" scalloped circle.

My week is off to a great start, i've got a couple more projects for retreat started and almost finished!

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful week.

Cup of Tea

Hi all.  Hope your weekend is going well.  It's been a difficult week here, but getting better so hope I can get my projects for retreat finished and shared with you.

I have loved this stamp set since it came out a year ago and finally purchased it.

The image is colored with Stampin Write Markers by coloring the stamp & then stamping the image onto cardstock.  I love how it turned out!

Thanks So Much

Great colors !  Just a hint of Wild Wasabi & I'm good.  :)

I used the All Abloom DSP with Island Indigo & Whisper White cardstock.  This DSP is very versatile with many different styles & colors in it.

On a personal note, sometimes life requires us to make difficult changes & often we ignore them or procrastinate in making them.  Hopefully, I am ready to embrace the changes that I need to make in my life right now.  If you are in a similar place in your life, I pray that you may find comfort in God's grace.

Summer Smooches

I really like this week's sketch at CCMC because I have lots of paper strips like this but I decided to go way out on this one .  I love how the 2 patterns play off each other and the white background,

The paper daisy was colored by soaking in a mixture of Island Indigo ink and water.

Thank you for stopping by & if you have left a comment, I enjoy reading them very much.  Thank you.

Blessings.

For Deanna

I found my inspiration for this card on Pinterest about a year ago made by Lisa.  ( I was unable to find her last name).  My sister 's birthday is coming up & in looking for something unique, I found Lisa's pin.  I still love it a year later so set and said "stamps take me away."

I chose to make templates using my Circles Framelits and then sponging the ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.   I used Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Peach Parfait & Basic Gray.  Then using my new favorite black ink, Memento Tuxedo Black & stamp set Fabulous Florets I stamped the images.  A little ribbon  & I'm done.

Anyone want to guesstimate when I might get this in the mail?

Amazing You

Hi all.  Hope you are having a good week.

I've been busy making projects for our upcoming retreat.  A weekend of creating with friends at a bed & breakfast!  Sounds like fun, right?

Most of the projects are almost done so can't share them with you yet.

Mondays brings a new sketch to create with at MOJO Monday.

Summer always reminds me of bicycles and have seen many on Pinterest.  Then it happened.  I saw a pink one.  Now that I have that info out there, I realize how ridiculous that sounds, there must be hundreds of thousands of them out there in little girl world.  None the less,  I wanted to create one.  However, I couldn't find my stamp so went with the scooter.

I hope you like it.  Thanks for dropping in.

Thinking About Fall

Today I have a color challenge for you from CCMC.  Basic Gray, Tangelo Twist & Bermuda Bay.  Great for Halliween and Fall projects!

Yesterday I managed to accomplish a few things.  It's always a nice feeling.  It was great to see everybody at church.

Afterwards, I was able to put together an email I wanted to send out.  I'm still tryin to come up with a plan to make that much easier.  It should be easy, but it's not working for me.  I refuse to give up.

Grandma

I'm thinking about my Grandma a lot.  I can't be there with her so I'm making a special card for her.  I bought this stamp set & paper years ago with her in mind.  We loved playing cards and other games so my intent was to make her a card & send it to her.  Inside it would say, I'm on my way to see you!  The more advance notice she would get the more worrying she would do.

For You

A new sketch at CCMC.  Yay!  I love the angles.  They shouted DSP Moonlight to me because of the many geometrical designs in it.

I couldn't resist putting the little flower down in the corner.

For the rest of my weekend I plan to do some light housekeeping, make a rhubarb crisp & some scrapbooking.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone & thanks for stopping by.
