Sending Love

Are you tired of this little birdie? But he is soooooo cute!  There are some awesome desgners on the web and I just can't help myself when I see one I love - I just have to make one.

Recipe -

DSP - Sending Love
Accessories - Corduroy Buttons Pretty In Pink, Grosgrain Ribbon Striped 1-1/4" Chocolate Chip
Punches & Tools - XL 2-step Bird, Big Shot, Embosslits Die Heart of Hearts, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots

Bird In The Clouds With Butterflies

I was inspired by a card I found on Stampin Up's new Stampin UP Connection.  It is an exclusive site where Demos can post their projects.   I already had the white felt cut from a project that I didn't use on a previous card so this caught my eye.  It speaks of Spring to me and I am ready for it!

Recipe:

Stamps - Well Scripted
CS - Gable Green, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal
DSP - Patterns Pack DSP II (retired)
Classic Ink - Brocade Blue, Gable Green
Punches - Scalloped Edge, XL 2 Step Bird
Tools - Big Shot, Scallop Circles #2, Embosslits Die Beautiful Wings

I sponged Bocade Blue around the edges of the felt scalloped circle.

A Bit Of Fun

I thought I would share with you an email I just sent to my fellow demo's discussing this month's swap as I was having a bit of fun this morning.

My BS project will be the Mini Milk Carton Die. Haven't decided on the theme yet. I personally am in the mood for Easter so I wouldn't mind all Easter projects. However, I will explore other options.

I suppose I could do a Baby theme, not necessarily a Holiday idea. Hmm, that gives me an idea. I'll be right back.

March 14 is the National Saving Time Day which actually runs thru the end of November. I could do a one-layer project. Laziness comes easy to me! Note to self - clear my calendar thru November.

Then there is Spring, an event of new growth. Hmm, new growth. That's totally opposite of afore mentioned Saving Time Day. Let's keep looking.

Ooh, April Fool's Day, that could be fun. I'm thinking cards that a rabbit pops out at ya. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Isn't that a song? I must have that in my music collection. Please, please let me know the title and artist.

Okay now, Deloris is getting her groove on. Need more inspiration. Feb. is Natl Adopt a Rescued Rabbit's month and so is Pull Your Sofa Off The Wall. You know those are 2 things that I would strongly suggest each of us do this month, HGTV's designer David Bromstad would be so proud of us. Would you like a rabbit for your farm? I truly think that they are one of the scariest animals God has created.

Ah ha. I have it. Spunky Old Broad's Month. ROTFLMAO.

My Dear Kind & Wonderful Friend

Don't forget to send your friends a Valentine this year!  Here is the perfect card.  It is so pretty, from the dry embossed polka dotted background, to the border, to the hearts on one side and a little heart on the opposite side to the soft and oh so pretty satin ribbon!  Great card Deb.

Valentine Please Be Mine

It was cold, cloudy and snowy today. Not a good day to be outside.  Earlier in the week I hurt my knee so I have been in a lot of pain with that.  With the weather and the shape my knee was in, I guess it was a good day to stay in.  Luckily I was inspired to create this card.  When I finished it I was so excited about how pretty it looked that I wanted to share it with someone so I called my friend Lisa.  You know you just can't describe something to someone and have them actually picture in their mind what it looks like.  I'm sure that is what will happen when she sees it here on my blog in the morning.

Recipe:

CS - Rich Razzleberry, Kraft
StazOn Ink - Jet Black
Craft Ink - White
Printed Window Sheets - Clearly Thanks
DSP - Cottage Wall
Stamps - Holiday Best (Hostess Exclusive)
Accessories - Sticky Cuts Letters, Stampin Glitter, Clear Buttons, Designer Buttons Latte, Linen Thread, Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon
Punches - 1" Circle, Scalloped Edge

Valentine's Day Cards

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by.  Over the next few days I'll be showing you swaps from our non-traditional colors for Valentine's Day cards.  This one is from Monique.  This is a very pretty stamp set and Monique just adds to it's beauty with her very pretty card.  Love the layering of DSP with the scalloped CS and paper piercing.

Rosemary

This is a simple design but very pretty, don'y you think?  Kathy wasn't able to attend our November meeting & I wasn't at the December one so Kathy brought her swap to me Saturday.  We had a shoebox swap - stamping from 10a to 430p.  Most of us were tired by that time, but it was sure a lot of fun.  I have a lot of valentine cards to show you so I hope to see you again tomorrow.

Be My Valentine

Recipe:

Put on your favorite lacy lingerie accented with beautiful pearls or adorn your neck with a pretty strand of pearls.  Don't forget the bracelet and earrings.   Dab on an exotic perfume.  Spread out the zebra printed fur rug in front of the fire with a couple of crystal goblets and champage chilling nearby.  Don't forget to add something fun with fringe or fur on it.  Lastly, and the best part, add your favorite Valentine. Then give him this cute card!   ENJOY!

Thanks So Much

Good morning.  I'm a little late in posting - for me that is.  I've been up all night working on a project for Lisa & I to do later this afternoon.  I hope to show it to you tomorrow.

Isn't this card pretty.  It's very simple, maybe too simple.  I used the XL 2-Step Bird Punch and took the negative cs to use as a stencil.  I then colored it in with our Pastels (chalks).  Such a soft look.

Thanks for stopping by.

FYI

It's the start of a new year & it's so cold outside.  Why not take a couple of hours away from the tv or computer and make some All Occassion cards that will be ready to send at a moment's notice.  No need to hit the card store on your way home from work.

First, pick a stamp set similar to FYI, select a piece of DSP and pull out matching cardstock.  Use the same color or a variety like I did.  However, this will take longer.  Use a simple sketch with maybe just 3 elements to it.  In my cards you'll see the FYI sentiment on a punched piece of cs, a button, and a scalloped edge.

The scalloped edge is easy, I just used my 3/4" circle punch!  The card size is 3" x 5-1/2" ( I used 8-1/2" x 11" cs).  If you have 12" x 12", I would suggest making your cards 3" x 6".  That way you get the most out of your cs.  Our Small Open-End Envelopes are the perfect size for these.

The verse on the inside is different on each one.  You can see a list of those below.  I'll show you the inside of just one of the cards.  I was getting tired at this point so my verses were not straight.  Oh well.

Recipe:
DSP - Sweet Pea
CS - Taken With Teal, Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Rose Red, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Rich Razzleberr, and Pretty in Pink
Punches - Curly Label, 3/4" Circle, 3/8" Corner Rounder, Scalloped Edge
Accessories - Dimensionals
Buttons - Fresh Favorites II, Clear
Classic Ink - Chocolate Chip

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Congratulations

I made this card sometime ago so I'll do my best with the recipe.  The janitor at my church recently retired and I wanted to send him a card.  Such a nice guy.  Besides Pastor, Leroy and I were the only ones who drank coffee.  He likes 6 sugar packets per small styrofoam cup of coffee!  Egads.

Birthday Celebrations!

Last weekend Lisa & I attended a class given by our fellow demos Kathy & Monique and it was all about birthday celebrations.  One of my favorite holidays!  They provided 8 different designs & you could make as many as you wanted for only $1 per card.  What a great idea!  And fun!!!  I chose to make one of each.  Finished them in about 1 1/2 hours & had plenty of time to chit chat, too.  (chuckling to myself)
