Grandma

I'm thinking about my Grandma a lot.  I can't be there with her so I'm making a special card for her.  I bought this stamp set & paper years ago with her in mind.  We loved playing cards and other games so my intent was to make her a card & send it to her.  Inside it would say, I'm on my way to see you!  The more advance notice she would get the more worrying she would do.

For You

A new sketch at CCMC.  Yay!  I love the angles.  They shouted DSP Moonlight to me because of the many geometrical designs in it.

I couldn't resist putting the little flower down in the corner.

For the rest of my weekend I plan to do some light housekeeping, make a rhubarb crisp & some scrapbooking.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone & thanks for stopping by.

Flower Patch For Kathy

My friend Kathy came over yesterday to stamp & talk.  We each provided the other a project to make.  This was mine for her.  I had a great time catching up with her.  She is so sweet.  I have the best friends!

What do you think of this color combo?  I love how it turned out.  The contrast between the Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss and Very Vanilla is awesome.

There's no accessories.  Can you believe it?

Thanks for spending a little time with me today.

All Abloom With Bird

A serene, calming color challenge at CCMC this week.

I chose Mossy Meadow as my main color  because I thought most would choose the blue.   In fact that would have been my first choice, so I went with the green and made it a little more challenging.  It seems that greens are not most people's favorite color.  I wonder why .

I had a card sketch that I used but now I can't find it.  Drat.  I love my interpretation of it.

On a personal note, it's been determined that my grandmother, who is 97, has MRSA & it has entered the bone.  Please say a prayer for her.  Thank you.

Oops I missed their deadline for posting.

Chuck

A friend from church has been really sick and that's on top of dealing with cancer, so I wanted to send him a special card.  I wanted to send him a card when he was diagnosed but I was dealing with my own cancer scare at that time.

I hope you like it.

Here's my little tip when making masculine cards.  I always add a touch of me - a little femininity.

Thanks for stopping by.

Baby Blossoms

I don't have a degree in design but this is the theory I used in my card today.   I first chose the background DSP then my stamped images.  Because there was a lot of white going on, I chose a dramatic color to separate them.  In this case I used the same color as the card base. Because it's.a dark color, there is a high degree of contrast between it and the white which gives it the wow factor.  Also, because the DSP has a modern flair to it and my images have a soft pretty look to them, I was able to achieve a nice balance by my choice of framelits, buttons & twine.

I hope you like it.  Thanks for looking!

My Little Weekender

Isn't it just adorable?  I ran across this stamp set recently & kept it close by knowing I would be using it soon!  In addition, I found some actual weekenders on Pinterest that I pinned so I used the same colors for my little home on wheels.

So if you can't find me at home this weekend, I'll be at the lake in my cute little abode sipping iced tea and listening to the oldies but goodies!!!

Happy Friday!

An Invitation

Good morning all.  I wanted to play with a new stamp set called Flower Patch & coordinating Flower Fair Framelits Dies.

First, a year, or so, ago I was watching a design show called Elbow Room.  Have you seen this show?   I loved the color pallet he used In a bedroom remodel on one of the episodes & I still love it!  They are very trendy these days, too .  (Trying not to be an old fuddy duddy)  Thr colors he used are my choice for this week's MOJO Monday Sketch.

The verse is perfect for this stamp set - "Happy Blooming Birthday!"

I love what I do & I love sharing it with others.  It is an absolutely wonderful feeling to see the result of your very own creativity.

Please let me know if you would like to enjoy a fun hour with me creating your very 1st card.  I promise - you won't want to give it away!  You will love it that much!

I'm just like every other person out there - we really enjoy feedback from our audience.  Comment?

My Friend

Oops, I forgot to add Hello Honey!  Be back shortly.

As I was writing my post, I realized
I had forgotten to add Hello Honey to my design.   But Deloris, we all see yellow in the pretty paper, you say.  Very observant, I say.   The yellow in the DSP is So Saffron.

You know what?  This is one of many reasons why I love Stampin' Up!  One color is designed to work with many of the other fabulous colors!  That's just a lot of fun.

So I added the cool die-cut camera and decorated it with a Baked Brown Suger circle and sequin for the lens.  Adorable!

Good to see you again!  Thanks for stopping by.  Would love to hear your comments.

Hi

Today I am playing the PPA211 Color Challenge.  It certainly was a challenge to use only 3 colors today.

My tip for the day is that it is okay to have "empty" space on your projects.  Notice the Whisper White Cardstock does not have any texture, stamping or otherwise.  It achieves a place for your eyes to rest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Brown Sugar

One of my favorite Rolling Stones songs is Brown Sugar.

You're probably saying "Deloris, how does this relate to your pretty card?"

So I've been sharing recipes for my projects with you and you may have noticed that we have some fabulous  names for our colors.

My card base is (drum role please) Baked Brown Sugar!

My thoughts are now turning towards a garden, evening tea party.  Lace doilies, something homemade with brown sugar and honey drizzled on top, put on a pretty dress and adding my precious pearl necklace.  Stop!  I've lost my mind.  Egads.  Whatever was I thinking?  A dress?  No way in this heat.  For those who know me well, I don't like wearing dresses either.

Thanks For Being a Friend, CCMC 310

Do you see the fish?

How about the upside down flags?

Oh well.  I was having one of those moments.  I still like how it turned out.

Let's all make a wish together for a nice and relaxing vacation on or near a great big body of water!

Stay cool!
