It's Turkey Day!

It's finally here. Hope you all are cooking up a storm and will enjoy dinner with loved ones today.

I disconnected my printer the other day, so I can't share a card with you yet. Check back tomorrow.

I will be going to my cousin's this afternoon to share a meal with her family. Later tonight I will make my pie and salad and have the turkey and trimmings tomorrow. Yummo.

Huge Savings From Stampin Up

Oh my gosh. In the many years I have been with Stampin Up, I have never seen a promotion like the Holiday Extravganza!!! They have bundled up their products to fit every possible need you could have and then discounted them up to 50%! It is a good time to be a demo. That's on top of my regular discount. But wait, it is only for 6 days, so you might want to go to my website and get what you want now before they run out.

Go to - http://www.AwakenYourCreativity.StampinUp.net click on Stampin Up Products, Shop Now, Specials, then Holiday Extravaganza.

Deadline is Monday, December 1; 11:50 PM (MT)

Poop!

Boy, what an appropriate title for this morning's post! Everything was going along just fine until I tried to upload my photo. My photography program wouldn't upload to my computer. Then I discovered neither would my browser. I called ATT DSL Support. She said I had a weak signal according to the test they ran. Can I just say, it is so hard to understand another's accent. It's frustrating and time consuming. At one point, she asked that I unplug the dsl cable from the splitter and plug it directly into the phone jack. Duh! Guess what, I disconnected her call. However, she did call right back. She then says she will need to have a tech call me within 2-4 hours. I forgot to mention the stash of cables woven around my desk, floor, fax and printer. Not to mention the stuff I had laying on the floor in front of them that needed to be put away. It took me way to long to find the right cable. That must have been frustrating for her, huh? So now I decide to clean up my mess, starting first by untangling everything. I had to unplug the fax & printer and store them elsehere until I dealt with the cables. The dust was disgusting. I could easily become a neat freak! But, I digress. It is now 2 hours later and I have fixed my own problem! Whew!

Here is post for the day. It is a small cello bag filled with chocolate-covered raisins. I have 7 done and plan to make 14 more for an upcoming craft fair. To read the poem, click on the photo to enlarge it.

Denise & Deanna

I made this card for my sisters, Denise & Deanna. Thanksgiving is all about family to me, but since my Mom died, that has pretty much been pushed to the wayside. My family is miles apart from each other. Now, I have to run to the Post Office. I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Many of you have probably planned, and shopped for, your Thanksgiving dinner. I would love to hear what will be on your menu. Please click on response at the end of this post and share with all of us.

Here's mine: turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls, maybe a salad and/or a pie.

Have A Very Merry Christmas

Okay, so here's the story on this card. First, this is the second of my challenges for Lisa using the Felt Flurries. Second, this is the card I told you other day I needed to fix one little thing. Well, initially, I had stamped the word Christmas on the oval, but somehow the last letter got smudged, so I wanted to restamp it before posting. I finally decided to take care of it this morning. Guess what? I can't remember, and can't find, the stamp set I used. I have gone thru 200 plus stamp sets plus I've gone thru my spreadsheet where I keep a list of all my stamps and still can't figure out which one I used. That was way too much work. Finally, decided to go with a different one. Hope you like it!

Flurries

Recently, my friend, Lisa, gave me some of these adorable Felt Flurries from Stampin Up and asked me to come up with a few ideas on how to use them for our next meeting. Here's my first project. I also am working on a 12" x 12" scrapbook page. It is beautiful! I can't wait to show you, but I'm wanting to use our Rub-ons for the title. They are 20% off this month with a $20 order.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I've been a busy little bee this morning. You'll notice Stampin Up links on the left side of my blog including our current catalogs, promotion and retired stamps for sale. Also, I have added a few blogs I visit often. Enjoy!

Freddie the Frog

Is he not the cutest little frog you have ever seen? Did you notice that he hops? If you pull/push the little red pompom, he will hop up and down! I found this on fellow demo Heather Summers' blog. She is just awesome. I am going to try to post a link to it here so you can visit her.

Musings on This Thursday Morning

Today, along with Mondays, is Hot Wings at Applebee's for only 30 cents a wing. These are sooooo good. It is a good day for America. (smiling)

I'm also looking forward to tonight's episode of Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab. One of the celebrities this season is Gary Busey. He was just plain weird. I'm sorry but I could not have been as nice to him, and tolerant, as were the others he was in rehab with. But, on the last episode, Dr. Drew explained to everyone how Gary's head injury from a motorcycle accident damaged his brain & how it is affecting his behavior now. It'll be interesting to see how I feel about him by the end of the show.

Last night I had my first stamp-a-stack class. It was a marathon night of stamping! It took us a little over 3 hours to stamp 20 cards and envelopes!!!! Talk about rockin 'em out. It was a great time, though. KC seems to be enjoying have comany over now, too. He loves your purses!!!

I have a card for you, but will have to post it later today. It needs one tiny little correction.

Hope your day is filled with many happy smiles.

Ketchup or Mustard on Your Hot Dog?

Good morning everyone! This is a swap for our monthly demonstrator meeting which was last week. I wasn't feeling well, so did not attend. One of the fun things we do in our meetings is a swap. What is a swap? Each demo makes x amount of cards and each person at the meeting gets one! You end up with multiple cards with different designs & products being showcased! Also, each month is a different theme. This month was manly cards. If any of you are interested in becoming a demo and would like to join me at a future meeting, please let me know.

This card features the stamp sets Voila to Go & Cheers to You. Sometimes a design just goes together so easily, but not this one. It took many trys to get it to a place where I was happy with it. I used a technique called masking. It's easy once you learn it plus it gives you a great deal of interest to your design.

As always, I am happy to help, show you, with any of your stamping needs.

The following is a response I got from a fellow stamper about this card from another website. Thought you might enjoy it. "According to Dirty Harry it wouldn't be a manly card if they wanted ketchup."

Here's the last of my 4 designs for my Stamp-a-Stack class. Instead of layering the Whisper White on top of the Baja Breeze, I punched out the 3 windows and the Whisper White is on the back side. With a little measuring it's as easy as 1-2-3. If you would like to make these cards, please let me know. I can be a little flexible on the dates and times.

KC Chiefs

Today was Chiefs day. We didn't win, but it was an enjoyable game anyway. Tyler Thigpen had a string of 161 pass attempts without a pick until today. That's pretty darn good! There were some awesome catches today, too. Good passing is good football to me. Go Chiefs!

Thank You

This is a little note card (3" x 3") I found made by fellow demo Heather Summers. I've always loved this DSP and Stamp Set. I recently gave it to a friend for placing orders with me. I'd like to be able to do this for more of my customers.

Stampin Up -Love You Much Promo

Stampin Up has just announced a promo for Valentines. It includes a new stamp set & punch that will appear in our new catalog Jan. 2009. The new punch has 3 different sizes of hearts! Be sure to check out our current promos at www:AwakenYourCreativity.StampinUp.net.

Family

It's been quite a month for a couple members of my family. My Grandmother has been in & out of the hospital for a month. The doctors have been unable to find the problem. Wish I could be with her.

My cousin Beth's husband, Randy, finally got his problem resolved. He was released from the hospital a couple of days ago. Hope he has no further issues. He has quit smoking - I'm so proud of him! Beth is not smoking around him. She says she goes outdoors. Way to go Beth!!

Happy Holidays

Here is another card for my stamp-a-stack class. This isn't too fru-fru (spelled correctly?) so I think it would be a nice card to send to a gentleman. What do you think? You can click on comment & let me know. I have another one I'll try to show you tomorrow.

Stampin Up has featured Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip in this DSP. I think these are my favorite Christmas colors this year. Come to think of it, I have been using them for a few years as my little tree is decorated with Gingerbread Men. Will post a picture when I get it up.

MIA

I have been missing in action for awhile, I apologize. First, my camera wasn't working correctly. Second, and my goal is to not bring this up too much, I struggle with depression. For the record, I'm in counselling, I'm working with an ARNP to find a med that works, I have a hobby, and I keep in contact with friends. Unfortunately, nothing is really working as this has been going on for several years. It is a very difficult place to be in. So, I only ask that you be patient with me.

I would like to say thank you to my friend, Lisa. She has kept me going these last couple of months with our stamping get-togethers. She says I am helping her, which I am thankful for, but I'm not sure she knows how much she is helping me. It has been so huge, I can't find the words to express them with. So, all I can do is say - thank you.

As to my camera, it is a well know name but they don't sell cameras anymore so they don't provide any technical support. That has been sold to another company who won't even help you over the phone, you have to send it to them! I then found a website forum that you can post your problem and others will try to post a solution. Well, no such luck for me so I took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. Apparently, the still picture and the multiple picture mode have been reversed. Problem figured out. It still works. No charge. God Bless the Geek Squad!

I have several Christmas cards to show you, plus a few other items that I will post later. Please visit my website http://www.awakenyourcreativity.stampinup.net/ for all of my events.

It's 1:07 am, I have my days & nights switched around. KC is all curled up and asleep on the sofa. Poor baby, he was all by himself today while I was asleep. Nobody to give him a snack, nobody to give him some cold water from the frig (he has plenty of food and water available, but it is just not the same - egads), nobody to talk to, nobody to love him. Yes, I know he is spoiled. Yes, I know I am responsible. Thank goodness I didn't have kids!
