Having Fun With Grandma

Saturday morning I was in the mood for scrapbooking, so I decided to do this week's sketch over at splitcoaststampers.com. I'm especially happy with this as everything was scraps except for the Whisper White Text. Cs.

I received many compliments to that was an added bonus!

So glad you could stop by. Hope to see you again.

Your Carriage Awaits

I love the colors Tonya chose for the baby's room! The room was put together just days before the baby was born, thanks to her step-mom Susan. That's cutting it close. I chose the crib to be the larger picture & took my title from it. I'm very pleased with myself on that one.
Enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

What I'm Reading Now

I have just finished reading The Shack by Wm. Paul Young. It's about a man who takes his 3 young children on a camping trip to a location in Oregon. On this vacation, his youngest daughter is abducted & bloody evidence is found in an abandoned shack.

Four years later, he receives a strange note, apparently from God. While his family is visiting relatives out of town, he goes back to the shack to learn who sent him the note.

I can only tell you that from this point on, this book may change your life forever.

At the beginning of each chapter is a brief quote. I would like to share one of them with you.

Nothing makes us so lonely as our secrets.
- Paul Tournier

Artisan Award #2

The projects for the Artisan Award this month will be using the new Razzle Dazzle stamp set. Here the floral stamp was used repeadily to create a background paper, then cut out with the Top Note Die & Big Shot. Very pretty. Also, notice how the punched items layer so nicely. She used the Wide Oval, Large Oval & Word Window punches. Tip: First stamp your verse, then take your punch, bottom side up, with the bottom side up you are able to center the punch perfectly over your greeting or image. If you would like assistance, I am happy to help.

Thinking of You

It's nice not to be the one having a crisis for a change, even though I still feel bad for my friends.
A little thinking of you card in your mailbox can bring you a moment of relief from stress & worry around you & remind you that you have friends who are there for you when you need them. Do you have a friend/family member that could use such a card?

Welcome Baby Aneya

Tomorrow I get to spend some time with the new baby & Zadie. Wanted to take a small gift with me so made this card to go with it. Her room is decorated in pink & chocolate circles and when I found this card I had to do it. Heather's blog is one of my fav's so I hope you can spend a few minutes looking around.

I also get to celebrate Zadie's birthday with her, & am taking a few gifts with me for her. They are posted on her also. Here's the packaging. I have purchased hair accessories, and little girl make-up to put in the "milk cartons." I also found some removable tattoo's that looked like fun.
Here is her card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Till tomorrow.

Chit Chat

I'm steadily creating new projects for my Open House (date to be announced). I have some fabulous projects to show you! Most will be greeting cards. I will have at least one new 2 page scrapbooking layout, and of course my 3 scrapbooks will be available to look at. I will also have on display some giftables. My new supplies arrived yesterday, so I am in 7th heaven as Mom would say!

June/July Issue of Paper Crafts

I thought it would be fun to feature some stuff from SU that you will see in current publications. These home decor balls use DSP and one of our Circle Punches. Easy Peasy!

In the August issue of Creating Keepsakes you will see The Write Stuff Specialty Designer Series paper, Under the Stars and Hit the Road (dormant list) stamp sets.
In the September issue of the same magazine you will see our Stampin Pastels (chalks). The Pastels will give a soft look for your projects. Please contact me if you would like a free demonstration.

Class Offering - Gather 'Round Your Memories

If you have kids, come & create this adorable mini album and send it to a family member as a gift. Or, if it's too cute to give away, keep it and show off your beautiful children or grandchildren - and your creativity.

We will use the Petal Party, a fabulous Simply Scrappin Kit. You will play with the Stampin Up Sizzix Die Cut Machine - The Big Shot & the Clear Circle Die. Plus, you will have Die Cuts leftover from the kit to make greeting cards with or put in an album.

The class fee is $17.50 which includes all supplies. You do not need to bring adhesive to this class. Class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Class fees must be paid no later than 2 weeks prior to class. This allows me time to determine how many supplies are needed, order them, and have pre-cut in time for the class. I will post this date here, also. I accept PayPal, personal checks & cash. Contact me today as there are limited seats available.

I Can See!

I received a call today saying my glasses were in, so I eagerly went to pick them up. It felt very strange to be wearing glasses, I think I lost mine last fall. I was able to get some clip-ons too. I've never had sunglasses with my prescription before, but since they have gotten so bad, I thought it was pretty important. I celebrated by going to Barnes & Noble & picking up "The Shack." I'm looking forward to reading it. Pastor is going to have a discussion forum on it at the end of the summer. Tonight, I spent time going thru some recent magazines. A few weeks ago I purchased a scrapbooking magazine & found instructions on how to print in white with a solid color background, something that I've been trying to achieve for months. Once I laid it down, I forgot where I had read it. Well, I finally found the info & I was able to do it. Now, I am trying to figure out how to print my journaling lines within a circle. I've figured out how to print the lines to flow in a circle, though. I just finished going thru some papers that I have held onto which I couldn't read, read them, then tossed 'em into the trash. One small stack off of my dining table. Yippee!!

Many of you are probably off today for the holiday. Have a safe & fun weekend.

Later.

Apologies

The projects I have for you have scallops, but only a couple of them were made using the Scalloped Edge Punch. This one was created by using the Big Shot & the Bigz Die Scallop Circle. You can dress up your scallops with a Paper Piercer & punch holes n the scallops. Here I used Real Red & Mellow Moss CS, Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP (retired), Bashful Blue Die Cut Flowers (retired) and a Real Red Brad.

Thanks for dropping in!

Deal of the Week Project

This card not only shows the scalloped edge layered but also an image was stamed in the scallops.

Wow! Look at all of the beautiful buttons on the left. I'd like to thank Michele Laycock for those. She provides them at no charge for the Stampin Up Demonstrators. Her work is so pretty. I hope to have a new blog design by her this Fall.

There is so much to talk about. I hope you can take a few minutes to look at our new catalogs, even if you're not into stampin or scrappin. If you would like to look at one or purchase one for $9.95, please let me know.

Are you a quilter? If so, check out the Big Shot and Dies. You can use material with them!

Do you like home decor? I know you will love the Definitely Decorative catalog. Give a look see.

Next, we a have a new promo called Deal of the Week. Each week of July, Stampin Up will offer a new product at a much reduced price! This week is the Scalloped Edge Punch. It will give your projects a soft & pretty look. This week I will post some projects I made using this punch so you can some different ways to use it.

Manhattan Flower

Welcome back! Another project started awhile back & just now getting finished. The card base is Baja Breeze (retired), layered on top is Whisper White CS stamped with Baja Breeze & the 5th Avenue Floral stamp set, the bottom piece is Urban Oasis DSP. The beautiful ribbon is Whisper White Organza. The flower us made from Vellum CS, Big Shot, & the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die. Once it was cut, I then used a Sponge Dauber and Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Basic Gray Ink to cover. Hope you like it.

Stampin Up Savings!

I just added 2 promos to the left, feel free to check them out, just click on the picture.

Thanks . . . I Needed That

Hello all. I have been out playing today so not much done around the house. Lily's Dad passed away last week and the funeral was today. I'm so sad for her.

Ran an errand downtown, stopped by my LSS (local scrapbook store) to use my 30% birthday coupon. Ended up with a new book on card folds. Looking forward to trying them out. Stopped off at Golden Corral for a late lunch. Called my friend Joyce & ended up going over to her house for supper. Thanks ladies for the burgers, beans, and strawberry shortcake, and some good conversation. Joyce & I talked stamping most of the evening! So it's like 10:30 when I leave. Egads. I get home, watch Anderson Cooper on CNN for awhile. That's when I tell myself that I don't have anything ready to post here tonight. Uh oh! I thought maybe I could get by that info instead of a project. I was able to add the July projects for you but the catalog wasn't ready to go. Will have to try again tomorrow. Okay, so now I have to find a project. I check out the SU (stampin up) website to see what's new there. Found this cute card, and say "hey Deloris this is cute and fast." That brings me to now which is 2:43 AM. So much for getting an early night! Oh well, you were worth it. Have a great Wednesday. See you back here on the flip side!
