Yay!!

Happy Monday!  It's been a very long time since I have shared a post with you all, huh?  It's crazy busy around here and I have a one-tracked mind so it's start a project and finish it before trying to do something else.  There's been our annual stampin' retreat, a Friday night and an all-day Saturday event of sharing new products/projects from our Holiday Catalog.  I have had a class since my last post.

I've been to my first water coloring class and absolutely loved every second of those 2 hours and looking forward to the next one.

Working my ABC's today - Awaken, Blogging, Creating & Cleaning House.  I also have my workout at 5:00 pm today.  Then, it's football time.  Chiefs vs. Packers.  Go Chiefs!  Hmmm, maybe I should have posted a yellow and gold project.

I Miss You Already

I'm having hockey withdrawals!  Hockey season is here and I'm not going to be able to watch Quinn's games because FastHockey.com and the college won't be video taping most of them.   I will have to find something else to do on Friday and Saturday nights.  I've been wanting to learn more about watercoloring so I am checking into classes for that.  I'm excited.  I hope it works out.

I've graduated from my physical therapy to a personal trainer and a 45 minute workout twice a week. It feels amazing.  Better than antidepressants!  I'm trying to document my progress and hope to be able to record it with my Project Life scrapbooking.

Today's card is so soft and pretty and a good example on how to bring a little vintage feel into your cards with a more modern stamp image.

Have a wonderful week everyone.

TFS Becky.

Celebrate

Good morning.  What a productive day I had yesterday!  Mopping, vacuuming, bed making, laundry, errands and more.  Did you have a nice day?  I hope so.

Today, I have a friend coming over who asked for my help in making Minion donuts (out of paper) for an upcoming birthday party.  Other than I have seen them online, heard the name and assumed they are a tv show, I don't know anything else about them.  I wouldn't mind keeping it that way either.  :)

Later I have physical therapy, so am looking forward to that.

I thought I would show you the stamp set Work of Art so that you could see all the images available in it.

The butterflies were made by using the chevron image below, stamping on Whisper White cardstock in Real Red ink then punching them out with our Bitty Butterfly & Elegant Butterfly Punches.  So cool.  Thanks to Sylvia Nelson for sharing her design.

Celebrate In Gold

Hi everyone.  Are you ready for a long weekend?  I was just reminiscing about watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon. I remember staying up all night to watch it.  It was great entertainment and for a great cause.  Thank you Jerry.

Lots of news to share today.  My niece has her first full-time job with a classroom (she is a teacher) and is so excited.  She has been waiting for this moment most of her life, I think.  I know her kids are going to love her.  My nephew is in college playing hockey now after 3 years playing in the CJHL and NAHL leagues.  They were so close to winning the Robertson Cup.   So proud of both of them.

Today I would like to celebrate the men and women who have or are serving our great country who deserve the very best from us in whatever they need to protect you and I.  We can't just sit at home and live our life without helping them and there are so many ways we can help.  Our help is desperately needed with our youth who need guidance to navigate their life knowing that they are loved and are able to give that love to others.

Thanks to Jan Farring for sharing her design.

Wishing You A Merry Christmas!

Christmas fun with Work of Art!  It's almost September and I am now able to start thinking about Christmas cards.  It's still a little early but I think most people have purchased their cards by October so here's an idea for you that can be done in 15 minutes.

How have you all been?  I'm glad to see that the weather is starting to be a little less hot.  Yesterday my friend Chrys & I went to KC for a scrapbooking crop and had a wonderful day.  Lunch at Stroud's always helps with that, too.  Yesterday was my monthly shopping trip to Walmart.  Thankfully that is out of the way.  Today is physical therapy and will get to find out my therapist's baby gender.  I thought my appointment was yesterday so I showed up and found that I was wrong which made the necessary trip to Walmart much easier.

God Bless America

Today I am feeling blessed to be able to create as much as I want.  I have the most wonderful friends and the best church family anywhere! May God bless each of you.

On tap for today is physical therapy and a trip to Dollar General and then home to do the dishes - ugh!

One of my goals is to declutter so I have come to the difficult decision of taking my scrapbooking and cardmaking magazines to be shredded.  I have several recyclable grocery bags ready to go to the car and taken to the shredder.  I'll have just one more load after that.  Yay!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and may decluttering be a part of your weekend.  :)

I talk a lot about color because it is an integral part of my craft but I don't want to be repetitive so here's some BREAKING NEWS for you! This color combo today is sooo out of my comfort box. I'm referring to the Coastal Cabana with the more traditional colors of Real Red, Whisper White and Night of Navy.   Keeping the Coastal Cabana to a minimum makes the design more appealing to me. I hope you like it.

Bon Voyage

Shall we fix a picnic basket & set sail for the afternoon?  I'm in if you're in!  It sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Yesterday was a rainy day here, but I often enjoy those.  I worked on a couple of projects, today I have spent cleaning up my work space trying to find space to put things - and no I didn't.

Saturday, before church, I delivered some handmade gifts to my friend Jayna.  I left them on her desk so that she would get them Monday morning. I am really enjoying sharing with my friends!

Today's card was another fun card made using the Work of Art stamp set.  I hope you like it.

Traveler

Good morning!  Another hot summer day on tap, yuk!  It was pretty quiet here yesterday.  I have been vacuum cleaner issues for awhile and finally yesterday it is working properly and my carpet is starting to look much better!  woohoo.

Another "Work of Art" to share.  Because this is a masculine card, I didn't add any pretty accessories, but I am wishing I had as it looks pretty bare.  I decided to share though because it is such an easy card to make and showcases the versatility of this stamp set.

Thanks to Cindy Techlin for sharing her design.

Thank You Work of Art

It's hump day!  If you are reading this, then you made it through another one!!  Congratulations.

I'm so thankful for cooler temps.  Yesterday was rather a long one as they installed the new part for my air conditioner.  I think it took a couple of hours so I wasn't able to get much done.  But today is better and I have a physical therapy and a doctor's appointment checked off of my calendar.

Do you like the look of watercoloring but don't know how?  Here I used only one stamp and 3 colors of ink pads to create this beautiful background for my big thank you!  You might be noticing lighter hues of the same color here.  Thant's a good thing.  I stamped the image using one color 2 times, without reinking.

Thanks to Aida Dominquez Vd Veeken for sharing her design.

HI

Yikes!  My air conditioner coil sprung a big leak last week. For Friday and the weekend, maintenance added freon every day but It was pretty warm in here during the afternoon & evening.  Then yesterday we had to shut it off and a portable one was installed  in my bedroom.  It is very comfortable in there but it is like 90 degrees in the living room and kitchen.  I'm told it should take only a day or two for the part to be replaced.

My card today was another fun one made using the Work of Art stamp.

I enjoyed creating the "HI" by using the negative space.   The chevron pattern with the 3 different colors is my stamped image.  I was able to achieve this by coloring it with 3 different Stampin' Write Markers.  It's like grown up coloring!  The other designs are washi tape - so pretty and so quick!!

Hooray For Today

Hi everyone.  Did you have a good weekend?  I hope so.  Saturday was our all-day stamping event at Joy's house.  We had so much fun.  We had 2 make and takes in the morning and again in the afternoon, so I got to play with new stamps and designs and a pretty card to take home.  Lunch was a taco bar that was sooo good.  After our afternoon make and takes, we played several Minute to Win It games.  I've listed them below.  Oh my gosh, these were hysterical!

Face the cookie - place a cookie on a player’s forehead, using only your facial muscles, move the cookie to your mouth.  (mine kept falling off my face)

Pedometers on headbands - 1 minute to rack up as many steps as you can by shaking your head  (each person looked weirder and funnier than the last one - too funny)

The marshmallow game - how many marshmallows can you pick up with chopsticks?

Sorting Skittles by color - how many can you do in 1 minute?  (this was our last game and Sandy was one of our last players.  Did I mention she is competitive?  Well she started taking handfuls of Skittles instead of a single color hoping she could get enough of one color at the end to win.)

Have some fun at home and play one of these, or all of them,  with your friends/family.

Today's card was super fun to make using red, white and blue for the 4th of July!

Hey Dude

It's 6:10 pm here & I still have too many things to get done today to get ready for our all day stamping event tomorrow.  By the time bedtime rolls around I hope I am not too tired to enjoy it!

Here's my to do list - groceries, deliver Stampin' Up! orders and thank you gifts, finish my make & take, finish my business tips to share.  And a shower and dinner to prepare!

Say a little prayer for me.  Enjoy your weekend and stay cool.  See you again soon?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thinking of You

Hi.  How are you?  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

Last night was my monthly demonstrator stampin meeting.  Since my birthday is Monday, I made one of my favorite cakes to share with everyone.  It was sooo good, unfortunately there is half a cake left over and I just don't need the sugar or the calories so I'm hoping to get it into the freezer before I eat the whole thing.   Forgot to mention it was a white cake, white frosting and coconut on top!  Yum.

I found the meeting very productive.  Lisa showed us how to make a darling little paper treat bag that I will be sharing with you soon.  We enjoyed sharing our swaps and learning which new stamp was used from our new catalog.  Next month Monique and Joy are hosting a pool party where we will have 4 new make and takes, more swaps (all using Pool Party Cardstock).  I'm going to provide some business tools.  Did I mention the taco bar and snacks?  Yes, for lunch we are going to have a taco bar which everyone will be providing all of the necessities for one of my favorite meals.  And also everyone was asked to bring a sweet snack.  I did get permission to bring peanuts - no carbs!   :)  And last, but not least, lots of time for dips in the pool.  It's good to be me!

Ok, so on to my card for today.  This is another card from my Masculine Card Class.  I just love this card. I've never really used this stamp set before.  Since I don't have it, I borrowed Lisa's. I enjoyed using it so much that I spent several days making quite a few cards.  Will be sharing those soon also.
