Amour

Be the "Boss" and try some embossing on your next project.  All it takes is a little ink, a little embossing powder and a heat gun and then say wow!

I recently finished up another custom order for 15 cards.  Most were chosen from cards already done, but I like to decorate the inside and an envelope to go with the card.  That took a couple of days and then I made a little gift bag to hold the cards.

This card is for my friend's parent's 50th wedding anniversary and she wanted the card to include the color gold and then we chose her Mom's favorite color which is blue.

Cardstock - Baja Breeze
DSP - Parisian Breeze, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps - Clearly For You, Memorable Moments

Wildflower

I am so far behind in my blogging and so many projects to share!

This very pretty effect was made by using Vellum cardstock over a design from the Watercolor Wonder DSP.

Tip -

Use Vellum to create a soft, pretty look on your next project.  Perfect for sympathy or wedding cards!

I like this color combo so much that my kitchen is decorated with them.  This is a simple & fast card to make.  Your card base is 5-1/2" x 4-1/4", the So Saffron layer is 4-1/2" x 3-1/4", Tempting Turquoise layer is 4-3/8" x 3-1/8", the Vellum is 4-1/4" x 3".  I stamped the Wildflower image onto the Vellum in Versamark, covered it with Whisper White Embossing Powder and melted it with a heat gun, added the ribbon and my card was done.

Cardstock - Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Vellum
Ink - Versamark, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Calypso Coral
Stamp - Wildflower, Best of Everything
Pretty Accessories - 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon Daffodil Delight, Whisper White Embossing Powder

I'll see you back here tomorrow :)

Thanks to Kay Kalthoff for sharing her design.

Happy Birthday

Here's my tip for today.  When you have hard lines on your project as I have, soften it up with a few curves like an oval die cut and embellish.

Snow is coming & I don't want it to.  Thankfully I can make as many pretty Spring cards as I want to :)

Yesterday was a down day for me.  I was able to sleep in, enjoy morning coffee and breakfast, say a prayer of thanks for another day with KC (my kitty, it's been 3 weeks plus of KC not eating very much.  He is so thin & it's breaking my heart).

Today will be spent going to the store again, this time to pick up a prescription plus a few other items I forgot from my last trip to the store.  Darn.

I have several events coming up that I need to get projects ready for.  Finally, I have all that I need to started preparing for 2 of them.  Yesterday, I finally was able to get 2 of the projects started so I will be working on them today, too.

I have a Tags & Cookies event at the end of this month, and then the Black Friday Breakfast fundraiser at my church.  More info will be coming soon.

I treasure each of your comments and love reading them.  Keep 'em coming!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blessings.

Tea For Two

I love this card.  The technique I used here is called collaging.  It is an artistic composition of stamped images overlaying other images and frequently used with similar colors. You can also overlay punched or 3-D items.

Yesterday I managed, with the help of a friend, to clear some shelves in my laundry room, sweep and mop the floor.  Since my goal is to clear out closets in my stamp room, we were able to remove items in the hallway into the laundry room and move 1 box from my closet to the hallway so I could start getting the items in it ready for selling.  It's a slow progress but I'm thankful for each step closer to that goal.

It was also good to spend time with her.

I also was able to deliver a custom order of 16 cards to a friend.  We had a nice visit, too.  I bypassed the store to head home so that was on my to do list for the next day.

Get Well Wishes

A little springtime to share with you on this very cold morning.  I just love water coloring but you can achieve the same effect with Blender Pens from Stampin' Up and you will love the results!

Tip:  when you use these techniques, first decide where your sunshine is going to hit on your project, then use more color where the shade is & less color (even white space) where your sunlight is hitting.  Isn't it fun to make your own sunlight?  Enjoy.

Custom Order

A few weeks ago I received a request for 34 cards from a friend in my Bible Study group.   I was thrilled!  Since then I have been working feverishly in completing them and I want to share all of them with you.  In addition, I thought I would challenge myself by sharing a tip with you on each card.

My goal was to keep them simple.   So, if you're looking for some fun and fast cards to make, you're in the right place.

Tip 1:

For those that think in order to recreate a card exactly as you see it, please challenge yourself to use what you have on hand, you will feel an amazing sense of accomplishment and twice the fun!  Need help?  I'm happy to do so.

Here's my first card.

Cardstock - So Saffron, Basic Black
DSP - First Edition
Cool Tools - Big Shot, Bigz XL Tasteful Trim Die, 7/8" Scalloped Circle and Blossom Punch
