Print Poetry

I'm in a poetry state of mind today, so I took my title from the DSP.

In this past weekend's service Pastor's message centered on Isaiah 60:1-6.  I would like to share that with you.

Introduction to Isaiah 60, it is both prophetic and poetic he says.  It invites us to see into the heart of the Epiphany event and it invites us to consider its relevance for us today.

Isaiah 60:1-6

60 Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Lift up your eyes and look about you:
  All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will look and be radiant,
   your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.
Herds of camels will cover your land,
young camels of Midian and Ephah.
And all from Sheba will come,
bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the Lord.

Amazing and beautiful.

Something Just For You

Hi everyone.  I have a monochromatic card today for you in pink.

Would you like a strawberry slush this warm Sunday? I'll meet you on the front porch, we'll have a relaxing Sunday afternoon.  We'll reminisce about yesterday, talk about today and dream about tomorrow.  Okay, so it's not so warm but the sun is shining!  It's only 18 degrees here.

Brown Sugar

One of my favorite Rolling Stones songs is Brown Sugar.

You're probably saying "Deloris, how does this relate to your pretty card?"

So I've been sharing recipes for my projects with you and you may have noticed that we have some fabulous  names for our colors.

My card base is (drum role please) Baked Brown Sugar!

My thoughts are now turning towards a garden, evening tea party.  Lace doilies, something homemade with brown sugar and honey drizzled on top, put on a pretty dress and adding my precious pearl necklace.  Stop!  I've lost my mind.  Egads.  Whatever was I thinking?  A dress?  No way in this heat.  For those who know me well, I don't like wearing dresses either.

Thanks For Being a Friend, CCMC 310

Do you see the fish?

How about the upside down flags?

Oh well.  I was having one of those moments.  I still like how it turned out.

Let's all make a wish together for a nice and relaxing vacation on or near a great big body of water!

Stay cool!

Playing with new DSP called All Abloom.  Summer is almost here but Spring wasn't here long enough.  Sigh.

I'm so enjoying pulling out stamps to play with that I haven't used in a long time!

For You

Yesterday my goal was to make 8 cards to have on hand ready for the mail when I needed a card right away.  I had previously cut the Groovy Guava and Whisper White cardstock for just such a purpose, but it just didn't work out that way.  They took me 2 days to finish!

All is okay though, enjoyed creating them knowing that someone I care about would receive one.

Colors used were Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Purely Pomegranate & Groovy Guava, the DSP is Botanical Gardens.

Thanks for dropping in!
