You're Peachy Keen

Having heard/used this phrase most of my life, I went in search of its origin.  Some fun info I found is listed below.

peachy-keen adj. 1 Excellent; fine. More often than not, used ironically. 

It's worth noting that keen in the sense of "Beautiful; attractive; swell" was especially popular with teenagers and younger folk, at least in the 1950s and 1960s. Thus, Max Shulman resorts to the term frequently in his novel Dobie Gillis (1951).

In the mid-1960s, targeting a youthful audience, Nestlé marketed a powdered drink mix that fell somewhere between Kool-Aid and Tang, which it called Keen.

Easter Wishes

A few days ago I decided to make Easter cards for sale.  I knew I wanted to keep the cost down so I needed to keep them simple - a real challenge!  I also wanted pretty.  This is my fifth set, I hope to share those for you soon.  I love sketches as they allow me more creativity and enjoyment.  This is CCMC297.

A Card For Grandma

My Grandmother is in the hospital and she can't really hear on phone calls without a speakerphone so I wanted to make her a pretty card and include a letter that hopefully the nurse will read to her.

I used Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Basic Black & Peach Parfait cardstock.  I used the Stripes TIEF and the new On Frame Framelits Die.  Great texture for your cards & scrapbooking!

These are for an upcoming event at my church.  I used 4"x4" coasters, clips that I have had in my stash awhile, retired DSP, stamp set Butterfly Prints & coordinating punch.  I'm thankful for Spring!

Happy Birthday To You

I have a fun card today!  Our new DSP Kalaidoscope is hip and modern and appealing to both kids and adults!  With a few adorable pinwheels and rhinestones, any young lady will treasure this card.
